Hacking an icon to revolutionise product customisation

Silver winning entry for the Converse 'Hack-a-chuck' competition. We put micro-controllers, pressure pads and wireless transmitters inside the soles of the shoe to capture the way people move, and translate those moves into a unique pattern on-screen. Allowing users to ‘paint’ with their sneakers, the pattern was printed onto the shoe to create the ultimate pair of customised Chuck Taylors.
